Mbappe’s goal in the 34th minute of the game makes him the first-ever player to score a Champions League goal as a teenager for two different clubs – PSG and Monaco.
However, it was Brazil captain Neymar who again stole the show as he had a hand in two of PSG five goals on the night, with a goal and an assist to his name.
PSG got the first goal of the night after Adrien Rabiot played in Cavani in the 19th minute, who did well stay on his fit before coolly slotting home. With the goal, Neymar has now scored five goals in five games for PSG this season. The former Barcelona star minutes later provided an assist for Mbappe as he knocked down a cross towards the path of the French teenager who made no mistake from six yards.
PSG got their third goal after Jozo Simunovic pulled Edinson Cavani by the shirt in the penalty box. The Uruguayan picked up himself before neatly slotting home from the spot.
Lustig scored an own goal to make it 4-0 to PSG in the 83rd minute before Cavani scored his second of the night with a bullet header to wrap up an emphatic 5-0 victory against Celtic. However, there was a mild drama in the game just before half time when a Celtic fan invaded the pitch and ran straight to Mbappe.
Celtic are set to face a Uefa fine following the incident. In the other game in the group, Bayern Munich defeated 10-man Anderlecht 3-0 to pick up all three points at the Alianz Arena stadium. Goals from Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara and Kimmich secured all three points for German league champions.
